To apply to play this year’s event, please click the button at the bottom of this page. You’ll want to make sure you meet the requirements, so please keep reading below! Within the application, you can indicate whether you are already working with a host homeowner or if you need to be matched with a host. Also how long your performance is. We accept 5 minutes to 45 minutes

is this a paid gig?

Artists who participate in Porchfest are donating their time to this event. It’s a great opportunity to invite the community to get to know you. Tip jars + Venmo are allowed/encouraged!

what are the requirements to perform?

As a Porchfest performer, you agree to play at an assigned host porch + time on Saturday or Sunday, November 2-3, between 12:00pm and 5:00 pm. Each artist will perform for at least 5 minuts minutes, but no longer than 45 minutes.

 

We also ask that you:

- Work with your area captain and host homeowner to adequately communicate set-up and take down needs early in the planning process

- Coordinate with the host homeowner assigned to you about the logistics of your performance (i.e. space needed, equipment, electricity needs, etc.)

- Connect with your host within 5 days of getting your porch + time slot confirmation

- Plan ahead for inclement weather! In the case of rain, work with the host homeowner on a plan to play under a tent, in the host's garage or covered porch

- Perform at a sound level respectful to the neighborhood in which you perform

- Get the word out! Post on your social media prior to the event to promote the event at your host’s porch

what are the requirements to be a host? DUE TO AN

OVERWHELMING RESPONSE, THE HOSTS APPLICATION ARE NOW CLOSED. SEE YOU NEXT YEAR!!!

As a Porchfest Los Angeles host, you agree to host a local artist on your porch on Saturday or Sunday, November 2-3, between 12:00pm and 5:00 pm. Each artit will perform for at least 5 minutes  , but no longer than 45 minutes.

 We also ask that you:

- Have the permission of the property owner and have a front porch/stoop/area to host performers / bands that is easily accessible by the street.

- Work with your area captain to communicate set-up and take down needs early in the planning process – leaving 15 minutes between sets or communicate with the next artist about their setup

- Assist peformers with setup on your porch

- Encourage participants stay on your private property and not in the street

- Plan ahead for inclement weather! In the event of rain, provide a dry space, either in your garage, covered porch or tent for the band to perform

- Get the word out! Post a sign with your host schedule prior to the event to promote the event at your home (handmade signs encouraged!)

- Notify your neighbors of your participation in the event
 

Some homeowners, at their discretion, elect to purchase additional liability insurance for the day – this is entirely up to you!

**Your application will be reviewed by the committee for many factors including porch size, time slots available and proximity to other locations in the zone. You will be notified by email if your application to host is approved! For attendees, hosts, performers and volunteers,  all normal rules of law and order apply and everyone remains responsible for their own behavior and venue.   Wander around, keep yourself safe, watch out for others, and enjoy the shows!

Thanks so much for offering your help with Porchfest LA! Community volunteers are who make this awesome event possible. Volunteer opportunities may be available in advance or day of - we welcome your ideas and have needs for things like event photography, signage distribution, and more!
